Immediately prior to Friday's weigh-ins for UFC on Fox 1, Lesnar will join Alistair Overeem for a prefight press conference for UFC 141 Live, which will take place in December.
Due to a second bout with diverticulitis, Lesnar has not competed inside the Octagon for more one year. Nonetheless, a win against Overeem would propel the former champion into a title fight against the winner of this Saturday's bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
Recently brought into the UFC from Strikeforce, Overeem will be looking to display his world class striking skills that have earned him multiple titles over recent years. However, against a wrestler of Lesnar's siz.
The 6-foot-3, 265 pounds UFC champion Brock Lesnar will once more return to the UFC octagon this December. This time hes taking on former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem who is now exclusively signed to the UFC.
UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta recently confirmed the UFC 141 live stream had signed Overeem after an initial report by the Los Angeles Times. The fight will be the headline event at UFC 141 taking place on the 30th Decemeber at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It will be a five round.
Overeem currently weighs in at 256 pounds and is a staggering 6-foot-5 tall. Hes a former K-1 kickboxing champion and only recently successfully defended his Strikeforce belt to Fabrio Werdrums challenge. Werdrum, himself had previously fought and beat Fedor Emelianenko.
Lesnar has been out of action since his first-round TKO loss to Velasquez last October due to a second bout with the intestinal ailment diverticulitis.
Earlier this month there were reports surfacing that suggested Lesnar.
